Black Roses Red

Sometimes inspiration strikes at just the right time! I was listening to Black Roses Red by Alana Grace when the new DT stamps arrived from Creative Expressions! This month's stamp set is the Heartfelt Bold Bella Rose set and the corresponding Heartfelt Bella Rose Rose Die Template. I knew exactly what to do with them! I wanted to make a vintage, shabby panel and so I cut out nine 4cm squares and one large 14cm square from grey board.
I painted them all with a thin layer of Snow Cap Paint Dabber. Then I sanded the large square quite roughly and the edges of the small squares and edged them all in Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then stamped a rose in Sienna Archival Ink and eight in Jet Black Archival Ink.
I didn't want a perfect stamped image on each as I was aiming for a shabby look so I didn't press to hard when I stamped each one and I wiped off any ink that went on the leaves part of the stamp as I just wanted the rose itself. This is a panel but would easily transfer on to a card if you used card squares instead of grey board. If you used white card you could skip the painting step! Thank you, as always for stopping by and leaving a comment if you have time - it is really appreciated!
