Well, I had a little parcel in the post that made me brave the pouring rain and pop out to my Studio! I have become the proud owner of some Waltzing Mouse stamps. I first discovered them about a year ago and then got distracted by Tim Holtz and Wendy Vecchi - anyway I finally placed and order and they came today! They are really fabulous!
I noticed on their blog that they have a challenge where you are given a sketch to work from. I have never worked from a sketch before but in the spirit of giving the stamps their first outing I thought I'd play along! I stuck pretty faithfully to the sketch and used the Rescue Remedies set, kraft card and inks (Gathered Twigs and Black Soot Distress Inks and Jet Black Archival Ink).
After I stamped out each label I distressed the edges before adding ink. The rosette was die cut using Tim Holtz's Mini Paper Rosette die and layered. I used both of the circles that are cut with the die and using two of the smaller stamps in the set - that made five in total! I used two Wendy Vecchi stamps for the background (from Dreams of Art and Seriously Art). I enjoyed my first foray with my new stamps - I have grand plans for Father's Day cards - and enjoyed working to my first sketch! Thank you for sharing my adventures!
