It's the lovely Denise's turn to choose the theme at Crafty Boots this time and she chose 'Bingo'. It's really easy (now she's explained it to me!) you just choose one line - horizontal, vertical or diagonal and your project must include those three elements at least.
So, I chose to go right down the middle! I wanted to acknowledge Denise's American roots (it was recently Independence Day!) and also wanted to take a different approach to the challenge! Lots of people will incorporate the elements as physical images, stars for example, but you can use the words too!I took a piece of kraft card and painted it with Nougat Fresco Finish paint. Then I stamped a wood grain stamp on top with Coffee Archival Ink. Then I gave the whole piece a good sanding which makes it look more weather worn. The words are from Tim Holtz's Seasonal paper (the 6" size) edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
The '&' was cut using Grungeboard and Tim's Word Play die (I love this die!) I inked the top half in Broken China and the bottom in Barn Door Distress Inks. I then stamped dots on with Jet Black Archival Ink. I hope this looks a little like the American flag...! The hand was stamped on kraft card.

This is super! I love the idea of using words instead of physical images. Very inspirational indeed. I love the texture from your background. It looks so real again. Also the colour scheme is very much to my taste.
