This month at Country View Crafts Challenge we are looking at crackles - you can use paint, stamps, glue, pastes, glazes, vaseline... the possibilities are endless! I chose to use PaperArtsy's Crackle Glaze which couldn't be easier to use!
I started by putting a layer of blue paint on some thick cardboard:
Then I added an even layer of Crackle Glaze:
Finally an even layer of white paint - the cracks appear before your eyes as it dries!
To finish it I stamped the face and sentiment (I LOVE that sentiment!) and coloured the face with watercolour pencils. I sanded the edges and added Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I really like the way the crackles show through the main image - the face looks like old porcelain.
I wanted to use the board as part of the cover for my nearly complete journal so I laid a layer of white paint, stamped the images and added very thin layers of translucent Fresco paints so you can still see the images. I gave the whole cover a good sanding.
Then all I had to do was adhere the board to the cover and add some stamping in gold paint for a little 'bling'!
I hope you feel inspired to join in with us this month - we'd love to see your amazing 'cracking' creations!
