It's the Easter Bunny!

This fortnight the uber talented Dionne set us the theme of 'Easter' for Crafty Boots. For me, Easter is another time in the year we can spend as a family day with the obligatory visit from the Easter Bunny! This is what inspired me to make this tag! Hope you'll join in this fortnight... Did you click on the Easter Bunny link? It's worth doing if you fancy an 'ear worm' - I bet you find yourself dancing along!!!

I had no clue...

Paper is often something I take for granted but it really is the building block of most of my projects. The theme this month at Country View Craft Challenges is 'Paper Chase' and so I wanted to make something that used lots of paper.
For this tag I used paper to make all of the stamped images (all by Wendy Vecchi) as well as sneaking in a little Clearly for Art for the jar! The ruler is acting a shelf for my art supplies and I used a variety of Distress Stains and Markers to colour them in.
The sentiment, again by the fabulous Ms Vecchi is a little too true in my case!

Z is for...?

...Zig Zag!!!

Welcome back to another round of our alphabet challenge at Dragons Dream Tag It On! This fortnight the rather lovely Silvia has chosen the letter Z and the compulsory element of a face (as well as the usual tag and use of at least one stamp).
I wanted to see if I could make zig zags and so, with the help of four sticky notes and a stencil I managed to get a pretty successful background, which I then clapped water on! The face is my fabulous phrenology head, Su, wearing a fetching headdress made from luscious Wendy Vecchi stamps. I'm not sure why I put the label over Su's eyes, it was going to either be her eyes or her mouth and I guess the eyes won! How will you interpret this this theme? We're looking forward to seeing!!!

Birds of a feather..

At Crafty Boots this fortnight my lovely friend Sara (and mother to my fabulous babysitters!) set the theme of 'Feathers'. I chose to interpret the theme as feathered birds and so made  a tag with some favourite stamps! Hope you'll join in with us!

Cage begins with C!

Ooh! Time for another in the fortnightly Dragons Dream Tag It On alphabet challenge and this fortnight my 'old mucker' Helen chose the letter C and metal - remember the only rules are to use at least one stamp and a tag.
I had lots of ideas for this one and finally narrowed it down to a birdcage and wanted it to look a bit distressed and so overheated the silver embossing powder so it bubbled up and looked like it had been outside in the rain for a few years!
I needed an anchor for the cage and turned to my trusty bird on a branch die that meant I could hang up the cage! Just needed a new occupant and so I stamped the butterfly on some paper and stuck it to a scrap of Clearly for Art so I could shape the wings.
We do hope you'll join in with us this fortnight and that you're enjoying these recipes as much as we are!

From the heart

At Crafty Boots this fortnight Lisette has set us the challenge of using green, this could be the colour of a St Patrick's Day inspired theme. I chose to use green as a colour and made a tag with a splash of red! The background is made from layers of Distress Ink with a stripy stencil laid on the top and sprayed with water to give a subtle stripe. The leaves are cut from the front of the packaging from PaperArtsy and the heart is a Wendy Vecchi stamp on some sticky back canvas (love that stuff!)

#happybirthday

It's a new month and a new theme for Country View Craft Challenges - 'Paper Chase' in honour of the blog's first anniversary - how quickly time has flown by!

When I stated to think about 'paper' and how to commemorate the first anniversary of our blog I immediately thought about grunge paper and that led me to use my favourite Wendy Vecchi stamps on an ATC! I love the idea of a flower growing out of an ink bottle... and I had to include my new Hashtag stamps as well as an appropriately numbered game piece!
I love being part of this blog and have made some wonderful friends both on our DT and you all who contribute your terrific projects! So, happy happy first birthday to Country View Craft Challenges and may there be many more anniversaries!
