Petal (Twice!)

It's time for another challenge at DragonsDream Tag It On and this time it was time to choose and I chose the letter 'P' and cogs (as well as the usual rules of a stamps image and to use a tag).
I used a cog from the MDF Man as a flower head in a Wendy Vecchi bottle. The doily stamp on the flower is also by Ms Vecchi.
The bottle needed something to stand on and so I added a strip of decorative lattice die cut  Now this you would think is where my post would end.... the trouble is I'd completely forgotten I had made this and so made a second tag for this challenge! When you see the second tag you might spot a few similarities! The design, the doily stamp etc were all on there! Spooky or what?! I only realised I had made two when I was adding the second to the big ring that I store this growing alphabet on! Good job I keep them all together!
You can't see the background very well in the photos but it has a water spritzed clockwork mask by Tim Holtz - honestly! The last photo might show this a little clearer...!
So, two tags for the same challenge! Bargain! I hope you'll join in with us this fortnight - we'd love to have you along!
I have (finally!) updated my dedicated DDTIO Alphabet page with all my tags so far this year - there aren't many missing now...!

Always Shine!

This month at Country View Crafts Challenges we are using stencils and encouraging you to as well! This tag has a few stencilled images as well as stamped ones!
The background has paint applied to it (white, pink and blue) and then, when dry, I used some Cut and Dry foam and applied white paint through a dotty stencil (apologies for the messy craft mat!)
I added a (Wendy Vecchi) striped stencil border to the top and bottom of the tag using Broken China Distress Ink then drew round them in white pen. I added a (Ellen Vargo) stamped border down each side of the tag and added a white dot in the circles.
The figure was a composite of stamps on tissue paper (painting the reverse so the design stays clear) and I drew round the image with charcoal pencil to give it a little depth.
The final stage was to add the sentiment, again a Wendy Vecchi stencil, 'painted' with Cut and Dry foam and outlined in white pen. As a final flourish I added Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges. I hope you've joined in with us this month - we love to see the terrific projects you make!

Heart U

Ah! The joys of being off work for a week - thank you school holidays! I have put the week to good use already by having a 'play' in the Studio and not being able to resist joining in with the PaperArtsy challenge this week. I loved the shadow box that Kate Yetter made and this is my version!
As my husband is Koumpounophobic I won't be bringing this project into the house!!!
Thank you for stopping by and reading this - I loved my afternoon playing with paint (I do love South Pacific!)

Hold my Heart

This fortnight's theme at Dragons Dream Tag It On is chosen by my rather lovely friend Silvia and is the letter K and a heart (with the usual rule to include a tag and at least one stamped image).
The hand and heart were stamped on tissue paper and painted with white and red paint on the reverse. The heart, background stamp and the stencil for the stripes are by Wendy Vecchi and the hand is by Tim Holtz.
I hope you'll pop over and see what the rest of the DT have made (it's worth the trip!) and then feel like joining in with us this time!

True

I've not really had much 'play' time over the last few weeks so it was wonderful to be able to play along with this week's PaperArtsy challenge. I had a fab afternoon yesterday playing and this is my version of Liesbeth's canvas.

Kiss

This fortnight's theme at Dragons Dream Tag It On is chosen by my rather lovely friend Silvia and is the letter K and a heart (with the usual rule to include a tag and at least one stamped image).
I used images from Lynne Perrella for PaperArtsy and the heart is from Wendy Vecchi (I love this heart!) It took me ages to think of a 'k' word and my daughter said 'kiss' as if I was daft not to have thought of it... and she was right!
I hope that you'll join in with us this fortnight!

Nature

A new month and a new theme at Country View Crafts Challenges and it's "Stencil it"! I knew I wanted to make a hanging as a change from the journalling I've been doing lately and so I reached for a new 'waiting to be used' stencil designed by Finnabair and was really taken with the packaging!
So I simply cut off the top and used Grunge Paste through the stencil like this (oh! I also added leaves from a Wendy Vecchi stencil:
I then added layers of paint, all PaperArtsy Frescos, even mixing a green:
The centre of the flower needed 'something' so I found a Lynne Perrella face that fitted and did my much used stamping onto tissue paper and cut to fit.
A little background stamping and some idea-ology to finish it off! For stability I mounted it on to a piece of cardboard that I'd painted black and it was ready to hang! I hope you'll join in with us this month!
